ABOUT COMMANDER

The Commander is a naval tool watch designed to meet high military requirements. It's a robust watch with an easy to read dial in both daylight and in the dark. The bezel features the directions of the compass for analogue navigations, screw down crown and a reliable automatic movement by Seiko. Water resistant to 20 atm / 200 m.

The Commander features additional naval details, inspired by Swedish Naval History. The rank of Commander (Swedish; Kommendörkapten) is featured in the second hand. From the 12 o'clock position to112,5 degrees on starboard side there's a green line, and a red line on the opposite port side in the dial. This is the required spread of the lanterns used on ships.

The caseback features a compass rose, inspired by old Swedish naval ships. An anchor is included on the crown and on the clasp on the bracelet.

Navigate with the Commander

The direction of the compass featured in the bezel is designed to be used to help navigate, for example in emergency situations when digital equipment is missing.

The method is very simple. With the hour hand, the position of the sun and the bezel you can define South. This is how you do it:

1. Place/hold the watch horizontally. Turn the watch so that the hour hand is pointing towards the sun.

2. Rotate the bezel so that South (S) is positioned between the hour hand and 12 o'clock.

3. In this position, South has been defined and now the other directions can be read as well.
